REEON, “Sector”: The deep sector, where we belong

I do try to push myself a little when writing for this blog. “The underground” of electronica is a massive and thriving place, with lots and lots of different scenes and audiences. There’s no way I can cover it all, and my own subjective preferences do of course play a role here, but I do try to move outside of my comfort zone. In what degree I succeed I leave up to you to decide.

However, sometimes I grab the chance to retract back to my hood. To the darker side of the pond, where the deeper flavours of house and techno resides.

And the Swiss gentleman REEON gave me an opportunity to do just that. His track is deep, it’s groovy, it’s progressive and it’s great.

It doesn’t really bring much new to the table, but it doesn’t have to. This track is more a demonstration of what makes the genre progressive house so damn persistent. I mean, sure, the day will come where the youngsters starts calling these kind of productions something else (like new generations have done with established electronica genres several times already) but the components will remain.
And this track here will stand the test of time.

In addition to our “Beatradar Selections” playlist we added this track to our newly created “Progressive Underground” playlist on Spotify. Please follow that list to stay updated on our progressive selections as they are discovered. Some fantastic tracks on that list already!
