We have a quite non-melodic focus here on this music blog. We like the dark, non-vocal, deep and clubby vibes here. Synthwave is our excuse to break out of that pattern and salute the overly melodic creations.

I’m not much for looking back. It’s just not in me. I don’t seek backwards to discover unheard tracks and artists.
Therefore it’s a kind of a paradox that I find Synthwave to be as fun as I do. But I do! And here’s a recent discovery of mine:
This time of year is all about traditions and looking back. So in the lack of a real xmas track (there’s far between those in the electronica world) I have chosen a really retro one instead.

One uplifting and feelgood track, and one darker, more alarming one. And both are worth hearing.
Read onSo, one of the discoveries I’ve personally done this year is that I actually think Retrowave is a lot of fun – at least in small doses. I’m simply amazed at how authentic some of these acts are able to make it.
